He was predeceased by: his wife Olivia Manning Watkins; his parents, John Watkins and Pauline W. Watkins; and his brothers, Allen and Jack (Elizabeth).
He is survived by: his son Donald E. Watkins, Jr. (Cathy); and his grandchildren, Tracy Watkins Williamson (Greg), Donald Christopher Watkins (Courtney), Meggan Hall and Shannon Hall (Dawn). He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
