He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Ratcliff and Eliza Ayers Ratcliff. He is survived by: his wife Imogene Wolford Ratcliff; his children, Ralph Pennington (Judy) of Broadway, Donnie Pennington (Brenda) of Quicksburg, Eva Jean Moubray (Dale) of Harrisonburg, Jerry W. Pennington (Gail) of Weyers Cave and Janice Shipe (Charlie) of Mathias, WV; and his grandchildren, Tim Pennington (Cindy), Chris Tinnell (Banita), Travis Emerson (Jenia), Davey Tinnell (Kim), Samantha Tinnell Shipe (Eric) and Brandon Emerson (Jenn). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
