He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Catherine Jenkins Smith; and his sister Mary Ann. He is survived by: his wife Betty; his daughters, Stacy Leighan (Bernie), Susan Ramos and Dana Smith; his adoptive son David McCloud, Sr.; his siblings, William Smith, Frank Smith, Jr., Granville Smith, Timothy Smith, Frances Smith and Linda Seale; his grandchildren, William Ramos, Elizabeth Ramos, David McCloud, Jr. and Daniel McCloud; his great grandchild David McCloud, III; his nephew Eric Lindsey; and his foster children, Chad, Chantell and Erica Wright Peters. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
