She was predeceased by: her parents, James Ramsey and Ruby Dudley Ramsey; her sister Elizabeth Jervis; her brother-in-law John Jervis; and her nephews, Jerome, Jon and Joel Jervis.

She is survived by: her husband Roy E. Smith; her children, Jennifer Cubbage (Garfield) of Stanley, Pam Wilkins (Scott) of Criders, VA and Jeremy Smith (Raven) of Elkton; her siblings, James Ramsey, Jr. (Bernice) of Palmetto, FL and Lesly R. Firkin (Tim) of Sugar Grove, WV; and her nephew Jeffrey Jervis of Buena Vista. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
