We are sad to announce that on November 30, 2023, at the age of 82, Gene Andy Wood of Shawsville, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles T. Wood and Ora Gay Yopp; his brother Arthur Wood; his brother-in-law Hobert Mills; and his sister Mattie McGuire.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Wood; his children, Mary Anissa Wood and Mike Gene Wood (Renee Wells); his grandsons, Kevin Wood (Stella Carter), Michael Wood, Tanner Cherry, Tony Odham and Damon Wood; his great grandchildren, Makayla Wood, Jasmine Wood and Charlie Mason; his sister Lilly Blankenship; and his sister-in-law Edna Wood. He is also survived by his family, friends.

He dedicated himself to his work and made lasting contributions to his field.
