She was predeceased by: her parent Theodore Roosevelt Drake, Sr.; her husband Gholie McCoy Burgess; and her half-brothers, Wilbur Turner and Melvin Turner. She is survived by: her parent Iva Holland Drake; her sons, McCoy Burgess, Jr. (Linda), Bobby Burgess (Myra) and Ronny Burgess (Carol); her siblings, Shara Drake Kitchen (Nick) and Theodore R. "Ted" Drake, Jr.; her sisters-in-law, Beth Burgess and Betty Turner; her granddaughters, Hilary Burgess, Lisa Gelman (Josh) and Kimberly Lewis (Broc); and her great grandchildren, Vivianne Gelman, Levi Gelman, Sophia Lewis, Swann Broocke, Ann Davis (Wayne), Carolyn Arnsberger (Jerry), Emerson Burgess (Shirley), Earl Burgess (Cecilia) and Wayne Burgess (Barbara).
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin and suggests that memorial donations be made to Sedley Baptist Church.
