He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Elum Merrill and Beatrice Cissom Merrill; and his siblings, Jean Plemmons, Earline Byers and Alvin Merrill.
He is survived by: his daughter Lori M. Galloway (James) of Pisgah Forest, NC; his close friend Lois Bryant of Courtland; his grandchildren, Brandon, Amber Galloway and Katie Bell (Corey); and his great grandchildren, Jonah, Landry Bell (family: Wade, Angela Bryant), Wyley Bryant, Renee Harrup, Hunter and Taylor Bryant.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation or any favorite charity.
