He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elliott Brown and Annie Brown (Ragland); his spouse Joyce "Tina" Brown; his grandson Jay Roberts; his siblings, Charlie, Lloyd, Glenn, Herbert Brown and Carrie Harris; his daughters, Glenda Mack (Bill) of Ruckersville and Regina Brown Bade of Rustburg; his grandchildren, Lindsay Bade (Tobias Williamson) of Lynchburg, Whitney Bade (Brian Davis) of Lynchburg and Loreley Seay (Jason) of Nashville, Tennessee; his great grandchild Abbott Seay; his sister Annie Wheelock of Seatle, Washington; and his sisters-in-law, Atlee Moore of Schuyler and Gloria O'Brien of Scottsville. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
