It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Gardner Bruce of Scottsville, Virginia, born in Charlottesville, Virginia, who passed away on May 18, 2021, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, David Edwin Gardner and Betty Kirby Gardner; her sister Beverly Gardner Johnston; her parents-in-law, Lila Marshall Bruce and Wallace G. Bruce; and her sister-in-law Myra E. Bruce.

She is survived by: her husband Wallace R. Bruce; her children, Tony Abbott (Carol Anne), Austin Bruce (Tiffany) and Brandy Abbott; her great grandchild Sage; her brothers, Davis Wayne Gardner (Tammy) and David E. Gardner, Jr. (Janice Conley); her aunt Mary Ellen Giannini; her uncle Lewis Gardner; her cousin Sanford Gardner, Jr. (Pam); and her close friends, Cindy Hagar and Lisa Batkins. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to The Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300 Charlottesville, VA 22911.
