He was predeceased by: his parents, George Kirby of Washington and Kathryn Glenn Kirby; his sisters, Willie Herndon, Ruth Herndon, Edith Pace and Jean Ann Kirby; and his nephew Kenneth M. Herndon, Jr..
He is survived by: his niece Shirley Frances Herndon; his great-nephews, Dustin Herndon (Rachel), Cody Herndon (Sarah) and Timothy Herndon (Amy); his great-niece Brooke Herndon (Sean); and also, Colby, Caleb and Anna. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.
