He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis J. McCarthy, Sr. and Carolyn McCarthy (Finnegan). He is survived by: his wife Christina "Tina" McCarthy (Winslow); his children, Stacy McCarthy of Richmond and F. Joseph "Joe" McCarthy III (Crystal) of Luray; his sister Diane Dowell of Scottsville; and his grandchildren, Lauren Lewis of Suffolk, Triston McCarthy of Waynesboro, Leah Lewis of Hampton and Madison May of Richmond.

Those wishing to attend the services will be required to wear a facial mask and practice social distancing.
