He was predeceased by: his wife Janet P. Leathers of Scottsville; his son Edward A. Leathers Jr; his son-in-law Cole E. Digges IV of Troy; and his siblings, Franklin Leathers, Harry Leathers, Charles Leathers, Edith Daniel, Ethel Bruce, Florence Walker and Frances Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia M. Digges of Troy and Troy A. Leathers (Lynn) of Stony Point; his grandchildren, Cari N. Squire (Kellen), Cole E. Digges, Aaron R. Leathers and Adam C. Leathers; his great grandchildren, Austin J. Squire, Mason C. Squire and Brooklyn E. Squire; and his brother Curtis Leathers. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, friends, and former daughter-in-law.
