He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Becky; his children, Tina Merritt of Waynesboro and James Merritt (Maggie) of Montpelier; his grandchildren, Derek Dye, Sage Dye, Marina Merritt and Archie Merritt; his parents, Earl Robert Merritt and Rebecca Cochran Merritt; and his grandparents, Bill and Stella Cochran. He was also cherished by his wife, children, siblings, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home (650 Valley St, Scottsville, VA 24590). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
