He was predeceased by: his parents, Layfette Bernard and Mary Stargell Powell; his wife Georgia Powell; and his sisters, Lucille Mullins (Herbert) and Louise Stone (Harry).
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Allen (Bobby) of Scottsville and B. L. (Melissa) of Scottsville; his grandsons, Phillip Allen (Brandi) and Barry Powell (Stephanie); and his great grandchildren, Ryder, Charleston, Hatteras Allen and Madison Powell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scottsville Volunteer Fire Dept., Santa Fund, SPCA of Charlottesville, Hospice of the Piedmont or a charity of your choice.
