It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alease Harris of Scottsville, Virginia, born in Howardsville, Virginia, who passed away on July 4, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Deacon William Henry Jones; her husband Samuel Joseph Harris; her siblings, Cora Belton, Lucy Randolph, Lena Pauline Allen, Ruth Harris, Catherine Johnson, Samuel Jones and James Jones; and her granddaughter Christina Harris.
She is survived by: her sister Ruth Jones (Amos); her children, Joyce Bates (Ernest), Daniel Harris (Joann), Linda Harris and Samuel Harris (Kimberley); her siblings, Olivia Hedgeman, Mary Ayers, Katie Davidson and Rev. Herbert Jones (Addie); her grandchildren, Daniel Harris Jr., Talena Woodson, Christopher Bates, Joseph Harris, Michelle Bates, Stephanie Brooks, Jessica Harris and Grant Harris; and her niece Phyllis Williams. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews.
Due to the current COVID-19 guidelines, all attendees coming to the graveside service and the funeral home are required to adhere to social distancing and wear facial masks.
