He was predeceased by: his parents, William David Satterfield and Bessie Mae Carter Satterfield; his wife Virginia Conner Satterfield; and his siblings, Billy Satterfield, Ethel Zanon of Betty Pruitt, J. C and Carl "Sonny" Satterfield.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon S. Brogden (Ricky) of South Boston and Kenneth A. Satterfield (Joy) of Scottsburg; his grandchildren, Shane Brogden of Danville, Elisabeth Brogden of Danville, Sarah Brogden of South Boston, Thomas Owen Satterfield of Scottsburg and Michael Clark Satterfield (Anika Hess) of Scottsburg; and his brothers, Odell Satterfield (Linda) of South Boston and James Carter (Doris) of Virgilina.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Powell Funeral Home (1603 Wilborn Ave, South Boston, VA 24592). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Halifax Memorial Gardens (3211 Halifax Rd, South Boston, VA 24592).
