He was predeceased by: his parents, Maynard Archie Wood and Ethel Mae Sprouse Wood; his wife Charlotte B. Wood; his son Randolph Franklin "Frankie" Wood, Jr.; his in-laws, Aubrey and Lillian Loving; his siblings, Robert Everett Wood (Geneva), Maynard Archie Wood, Jr., William "Willie" E. Wood, Daisy Mae Samual (John), Doris Ann Pritchett (Aaron), Shirley J. Dawson (Edgar) and Jerry Elizabeth "Tad" Robinson (Sidney); and also Greg Johnson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pam Johnson, Becky Ann Payne (Joey) and Tammy Williams; his grandchildren, Adam Johnson (Lisa), Becky Jo Payne (Matt), Cory Johnson and Matthew Payne (Dana); his sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Carol; his niece Vicky Wingfield; and his close friends, Lynnley Thornton, Paul and Kim Miller. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home (201 1st St S, Charlottesville, VA 22902). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Fox Memorial Baptist Church (2847 W River Rd, Scottsville, VA 24590).
