It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Louetta Irene Gibbons of Sanford, Virginia, who passed away on January 30, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her stepdaughter Diana Gibbons Bonniwell; her husband Edward Lee Gibbons; her parents, Irene White Godwin and John Nathan Godwin, Sr.; her siblings, Peggy Miller, John N. Godwin, Jr. and Sylvia Whitmore; and her siblings-in-law, Melvin Miller, Andrew Parks, Ronnie Whitmore, Richard Gibbons, Johnny Gibbons, Olin Mears, Margie Godwin and Lois Ann Mears.
She is survived by: her stepdaughter Tammy Gibbons Matthews; her sons-in-law, Ron Matthews and Reade Bonniwell; her grandchildren, Christy Baylis (Shawn), Cindy Daniels (Brian), Connie Cooper (Skyy), Ashleigh Miller (Matt) and Justin Matthews (Brittany); her great grandchildren, Connor, Caitlin Daniels, Brayden, Liam Miller, Elyana, Ruby Cooper, Aiden, Shanon Gaston, Mayson, Foster and Levin Matthews; her sisters, Ann Pruitt (Johnny) and Roberta Chance (Eddie); and her sisters-in-law, Rosemary Gibbons and Milicent Gibbons. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
