He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurel McLaughlin and Fannie McLaughlin; and his brothers, Johnny, Bert and Ralph McLaughlin.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Firesheets McLaughlin; his children, Sherman McLaughlin Jr. (Christine) and Cathy Westerman (Troy); his grandchildren, Jason McLaughlin (Carey), Ashley McLaughlin, Valerie Bess (Taylor) and Seth Westerman; his great grandchild Cora Whetstone; his brother Kent McLaughlin (Bonnie); and his sisters-in-law, Elsie McLaughlin and Barbara Firesheets. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
