Joseph W. Rethemeyer Sr. Obituary

Rethemeyer, Joseph W., Sr., 67, of Sandston, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 26, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Fritz Rethemeyer and infant grandson, Michael. Joe is survived by his mother, Alice Rethemeyer; wife of 38 years, BethAnn Rethemeyer; and sister, Patricia Maxim. The Proud father of seven, Fritz, Crystal, Sarah, Nina, Joseph Jr., Matthew (Bonnie), and Joshua; and proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Jack, Andy, Christopher, and Bella.

He learned how to fly at the age of 12, in New Bedford Mass. He was a US Air Force Veteran and a retired aircraft mechanic for USAirway and American Airlines. He was an accomplished artist, especially napkin art. A Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Chapel. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in the cemetery at St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary in Dillwyn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Chapel, 5217 Futura Ave, Richmond, VA 23231. To plant Memorial Trees in memory of.
