He was predeceased by: his parents, Lena (Frank Wood) and Henry (Barbara Gray); and his friend Wayne "Shortie" Englehart. He is survived by: his children, Laurie Faulconer (John) and Brandon Wood-Olmedo; his grandchildren, Ryan Dillard, Grayson Olmedo (Taylor), Aiden Olmedo and Annabell Olmedo (Chas); his close friend Katherine Wood (Doug); his siblings, Wayne Wood, Daniel Gray (Amy), Stacey Teas, Judy Gray, Wendy Gray and Rachel Harman (Lee); and his nieces and nephews, Kim McGirt (Kerry) and Ricky Level (Randa).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Hemophilia Foundation.
