He is survived by: his wife JoAnn; his daughter Sharon Brodt (Scott) of Kitty Hawk, NC; his grandson Matthew McMurtrie of Raleigh, NC; his children, Mary Penn Nolte, Tim Nolte of Powell's Point, NC and Alexandra Nolte; the parent of his child Claire Nolte of Southern Shores, NC.; and his sister Sallie Nolte of Richmond, VA..
