He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Franklin Abel and Nannie Hilt Abel; and his nephew Charles Vanhoozier. He is survived by: his close friend Faith Nyman; and his nieces and nephews, Kathryn Blevins, Betty Ruth Dungan, Patty Smith, Mike Monk and Ed Monk.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tannersville Volunteer Fire Department, as well as the Tannersville Volunteer Resque Squad.
