He was predeceased by: his granddaughter April Clifton; and his siblings, Alva Mae Sawyers, Mary Cregger, Catherine Strouth, Nancy Gillespie and Joe Echols.
He is survived by: his father Poppy; his wife Arbutus Davis Echols; his daughters, Diane Clifton (Charles) of Meadowview, Susan Lundy (Tim) of Cleghorn Valley and Sharon Williams (Stan) of Glade Spring; his grandchildren, Melissa Dye (Corey), Amy Clifton, Jennifer Jessee (Matt), Heather Lundy, Stephanie Vrettos (Nick), Hayley Chafin (Cory) and Drew Williams; his great grandchildren, Bayleigh Killen (Jared), Erin Dye, Caleb Chafin, Ella Chafin, Olivia Jessee and Danny Jessee; and his brothers, Frank Echols (Carol) of Rich Valley and Lee Echols (Edith) of Bland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
