He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Otis and Mildred Burkett (Surber) of Saltville, VA; and his siblings, Sexton Burkett, Maxine Benson, Benny Burkett and Bettie Burkett.
He is survived by: his wife Reba (Dowdy); his children, William Burkett (Connie) of Claremont, NC and Anne Rudert (Bill) of Winston-Salem, NC; his grandchildren, Hunter Burkett (Breanna), Bryson Burkett, Luke Burkett, Sadie Rudert and Vivian Rudert; his great grandchild Mallory Burkett; his siblings, Sue Webb (Howard) of Bristol, TN, Curtis Burkett (Vicki) of Abingdon, VA and Patty Prater (Nelson) of Saltville, VA; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Burkett of Lebanon, VA and Judy Burkett of Wytheville, VA.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Henderson Funeral Home (148 E Main St, Saltville, VA 24370). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 1:00 PM at 1807 Saltville Hwy, Saltville, VA 24370. A burial was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at the Ridgedale Methodist Church (1112 Ridgedale Rd, Saltville, VA 24370).
