He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Junior and Wilma Balis; his sisters, Saundra Gaskins and Margaret Hummel; his brother-in-law Dick Hummel; his nieces, Alicia and Melanie Hummel; and his nephew Andy Hummel.
He is survived by: his children, Wade Balis Jr. (Amanda), Julie Smith and Brian Balis (Tiffany); his grandchildren, Kevin Smith, Curtis Balis, James Smith, Trevor Balis, Gunner Smith, Kaitlyn Balis, Kelsie Balis and Aleah Smith; his great grandchild River Sigman; his nephews, Earl Gaskins (Pam) and Chris Underwood (Loretta); and his niece Marsha Ruth (John). He is also survived by Several great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
