She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Hall and Helen Hall; and her husband Jim Miller. She is survived by: her son Douglas Miller; her siblings, Gary Hall (Greta), Janet Bragg and Sandy Levitt; her pet Ginger; her grandchildren, Stephen and Kate Garrett; and also, Piper and Mollie Garrett (Fred).
In the mid-1980's, Shirley began organizing the Kosnoski Family Reunion in Layland, WV and the Layland Community Reunion at Camp Washington-Carver, both held each summer until Covid.
