He was predeceased by: his parents, Avery "Red" McClanahan and Bea McClanahan (Yates); his daughter Becky Vandyke; his nephew David Lutes; his parents-in-law, Marie and Harold Copeland; and his sister Dolores (Walter George).
He is survived by: his wife Judy Copeland; his children, Sharon Mullins (Anthony) and Ryan Keith McClanahan (Mary Beth); his son-in-law Mitchell Vandyke; his sisters, Dr. Charlene Lutes and Janet McMahon (Mike); his sister-in-law Shirley Havlik; and his grandchildren, Jordan Randolph, Alex VanDyke, Avery Tyler McClanahan and Emma Grace McClanahan.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Little Prater Church of Christ (1299 Little Prater Rd, Grundy, VA 24614). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory to Little Prater Church of Christ, Buchanan County Public Library, American Legion John Ratliff Post No. 164, St. Jude's or a charity of your choosing.
