It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl Emory Tarpley Sr. (Salem, Virginia), who passed away on March 31, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Etta Mae; and his brothers, Clarence, Cecil, Claude and Crippen Tarpley.

He is survived by: his son Carl E. Tarpley, Jr. (Sonny); his daughter-in-law Joyce Tarpley; and his granddaughters, Vickie Thomasson and Liz Graham. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Choir Fund at First United Methodist Church, Salem, VA.
