Though Alonzo Matthew may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Alonzo Matthew touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Becks and Helen Becks; his brother Russell Becks; his girlfriend Carolyn Drew; and his grandson Dámese Martin Hartman.
He is survived by: his children, Alonzo Becks, Jr. (Dartonia Parker), Darlene Drew (Chucky) and Tiffany Hartman Stroud (Reggie); and his sister Delores Jimenez (Juan). He is also survived by numerous nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM at the Lotz Funeral Home (1330 E Main St, Salem, VA 24153). A graveside service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery (5070 Cove Rd, Roanoke, VA 24017).
