He was predeceased by: his son Charles Shepard; his parents, Herbert Miles and Christine Miles; and his sisters, Wilma Jean Reed, Jerema Edgar and Shirley Miles.
He is survived by: his wife Emma June Miles; his daughter Melissa Sweeney (Wayne) of Stickleyville, VA; and his brother Jimmy Miles (Betty) of Jonesville, VA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
