He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Bryson; his parents, James Goldman Bryson and Alice Garlic Bryson; and his siblings, Harold Bryson, Roger Bryson, Shirley Bryson Jones and Patsy Bryson Scalf.

He is survived by: his son Bo Bryson; and his siblings, James Lowell "Dickie" Bryson, Charlotte Blevins and Charmie Murphy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
