He was predeceased by: his wife Viola S. Carter; and his granddaughter April Samuel. He is survived by: his children, Samuel N. Carter and Martha Samuel (Warren); and his grandchildren, Rachel Bennett, Delaney Carter and Alex Samuel. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
