She was predeceased by: her parents, William Deel and Edith Deel; her sisters, Loretta and Jean; and her children, Eugene, Karl, Franklin, Carroll and Alita Hix.
She is survived by: her husband Floyd Hix, Jr.; her children, Renee Cowan (David), Sonya Vitale (Eric), Tonya Donovan (James), Kara Vannoy (Elden), Thomas Hix (Heather) and Charlene Stephens (Mark); her siblings, Wanda Lizotte (Dave), Diana Dillard (Lynn) and Jimmy Deel (Gayle); and her brother-in-law Bill Willis. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
