She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Allen and Florence Allen. She is survived by: her husband Charles L. Monroe; her children, Deneen Y. Monroe-Stewart and Eric D. Monroe (Debra); her grandchildren, Kiara Monroe-Butler (Joshua), Marquis Johnson and Ryen Henry; her great grandchildren, Kaiya Monroe, Kayden Butler and Abigail Funk; her godsons, Quincy Taylor and Madrice Hamn I; and her siblings-in-law, Lloyd E. Monroe and Shirley J. Monroe. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
