With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Irene Tignor Carter (Ruther Glen, Virginia), who passed away on November 13, 2018. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her brother Frank Tignor; and her half-sister Leona Hornack. She is survived by: her children, Charles Carter (Shelby), Jean C. Taylor (late David) and Barbara Tate (Melvin "Bunny"). She is also survived by ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cardinal Baptist Church.
