He was predeceased by: his parents, William Armistead and Bessie Anderson Marshall of Rustburg; and his siblings, William Marshall, Vernon Marshal, Rosalie Hamlette and Geraldine Marshall.
He is survived by: his wife Bertha Alexander Marshall; his children, Nathaniel Marshall Jr. (Janice) of Rustburg, David Marshall of Rustburg, Carroll Marshall (Lolita), Michael Marshall (Deborah) of Lynchburg, Patricia Taylor of Baltimore and Carolyn Hayden (Ray) of Madison Heights; his siblings, Louis Marshall (Vivian) of Gladys and Louise Marshall of Lynchburg; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Alexander, Blanche Edwards and Barbara Jones. He is also survived by des 18 grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
