She was predeceased by: her parents, John Mathew Johnson and Lucy Jean Powell Johnson; her husband Robert Nathaniel Mays; and her children, Robbie Waldren Williams and Hilda Marie Simonton.
She is survived by: her daughter Deveta Jean Harris; and her grandchildren, Debbie Hendricks Warren (Tom), John Preston Harris, Jr. (Janet), Diane Vest, Robert Lee Simonton, Jr. (Karen) and Wanda Williams Williamson. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Bethany United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
