It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Mawyer Wilkerson of Rustburg, Virginia, who passed away on December 27, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmo Mawyer and Margaret Mawyer of Lynchburg, VA.; her siblings, Darel, Vincent Mawyer and Cathy Bernard; and her grandchild Courtney Wilkerson.

She is survived by: her husband Walter J. Wilkerson of Rustburg; her children, Jason Wilkerson (Amanda), Phillip Wilkerson and Margaret Ann Rhino (Courtney); her aunt Ocie Jackson; and her grandchildren, Christopher Bennett, Sarah Crews, Katie Wilkerson, Emily Wilkerson, Madison Farringer, Cheyenne Wilkerson, Bri Robinson, Dakota Benard, Alexus Benard, Corey Benard and Briason Rhino. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
