He was predeceased by: his parents, John Burrus Pool, Jr. and Georgia Edens Pool; and his daughter Melissa Pool. He is survived by: his children, Heather Mays of Monroe, John "Jay" Pool (Dawn) of Monroe and Stephanie Wright (Adam); his grandchildren, Zander Mays, Brianna Mays, John Michael Pool, Jillian Brown, Natalie Pool, Carter Pool, Haleigh Wright and Oland Wright; his sister Georgia Carol Seekford of Gladys; and his close friend Dorothy "Dottie" Turpin of Rustburg.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory (220 Breezewood Dr, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A reception will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
