With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janis Mawyer Cage of Rustburg, Virginia, born in Amherst, Virginia, who passed away on November 13, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Woodrow D. Cage; her parents, Otis Dadmon Mawyer and Eler Martin Mawyer; and her siblings, Roy Mawyer, James Mawyer, Catherine "Tabby" Floyd and Lucinda Turner.
She is survived by: her children, Gordon B. Dalton, Christopher Otis Dalton (Heather) and Beverly D. Woody (Mike); her sisters, Katy Cheatham and Rachel Brooks (George); and her sister-in-law Debbie Mawyer. She is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
