He was predeceased by: his parents, Hurley Trent and Annie Trent. He is survived by: his children, Hurley T. Trent, Pauline T. Thornbill, Eliabeth Thornbill, Frant Trent and Mary Howard; his wife Loraine B. Trent; and his children, David E. Trent, Jr., Raymond A. Trent, Tony D. Trent, Marilyn T. Phalman (Thomas), Linda T. Laughlin (Darrell) and Carolyn F. Trent. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
