Barbara Turner Rakes Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Turner Rakes of Rustburg, Virginia, born in Henry County, Virginia, who passed away on February 11, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Dewey T. Rakes, Jr. (S. Navy); and her brothers, Randolph and Jack Turner. She is survived by: her children, David Rakes (late Sharon), Gary Rakes (Lisa) and Lisa Bryant; her grandchildren, Emily Woody, Alison Hostetler, Amanda Smith, Kayla Rakes, Garret Rakes, Jessie Bryant, Zac Bryant and Leah Rakes; and her brothers, Ed and Raymond Turner. She is also survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
An open time to pay respects will be held on Monday from 9am to 5pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel following COVID-19 protocols for all those who wish to show last respects.
