He was predeceased by: his parents, A. T. Sr. Sowell and Ruth Sowell of Rustburg, VA.. He is survived by: his children, Shannon V. Sowell Hite (Wayne Hite) of Rustburg, VA and Allen T. Sowell (Jenny Sowell) of Richmond, VA; his grandchildren, Katelyn B. Grigsby (Jason Grigsby), Chelsea Galloway, Aiden Sowell and Ada Sowell; his stepgrandchildren, Kara Hite and Caleb Hite; and his former wife Stephanie Sowell Younger (Mark).
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Home of Mark and Stephanie Younger of Rustburg VA. A memorial service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Shiloh United Methodist Church (18121 Forest Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502).
