She was predeceased by: her husband Lawerence Mack Cassell; and her daughters, Shirley Eanes (James "Larry" Eanes) and Darnell Thomas (James "Bo" Thomas). She is survived by: her sister Joan Burchett; her grandchildren, Angie Eanes Potts (Brian Potts), Cindy Thomas Burton (Richard Burton), Ron Thomas (Andrea Crigger Thomas) and Amy Eanes McClanahan (Alan McClanahan); her great grandchildren, Brandy, JB Potts, Morgan Dean (Michael Dean), Baylie Burton, Dillion, Caroline Thomas, Ella, Huntleigh and Aubreigh McClanahan; and her great great grandchild Moxley Dean. She is also survived by friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Rural Retreat Volunteer Emergency Services.
