He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Garland Tibbs and Ruth Elizabeth Atwell Tibbs; and his brothers, Emory Wayne Tibbs and Roger Dale Tibbs. He is survived by: his wife Betty Barker Tibbs; his sons, James Michael Tibbs (Michelle) and Christopher Tibbs (Olga); his siblings, Nancy Kirk (Dean) of Norton, VA, Linda Tibbs of Rural Retreat, VA, Kenneth Tibbs (Sally) of Rural Retreat, VA, Gary Tibbs (Patsy) of Rural Retreat, VA and Patti Bridges (Tommy) of Rural Retreat, VA; and his grandchildren, Emma, Mark and Tessa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
