He was predeceased by: his father Frank Murray Nelsoen; and his siblings, Frances Nelsoen and Dorion Nelsoen. He is survived by: his mother Mable Crockett Nelsoen; his wife Charisse Thomason Nelsoen of Winston-Salem, NC; his children, Aledra Beal (Asa), Kevin Nelsoen of Winston-Salem and Eric Nelsoen (Curnisha) of Winston-Salem; his siblings, Sharon Nelsoen of Wytheville, VA, Pamela Jones of Wytheville, VA and Darryl Nelsoen (Patricia); and his grandchildren, Keymora, Kimberly Pinnix, Alana Blair Walker, Yamaya Raine Augustine, Aleigh Maria Nelsoen, Micah Ian Beal, Josiah Asa Beal, Ma'Savior Edwards, Za'Kyra and Mateus Nelsoen.
