He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hale and Ruth Carpenter Hale; his wife Evangeline Anderson Hale; and his nephews, Wayne and Jay Dixon.
He is survived by: his children, Brock Hale (Corinna), Steve Hale (Rhonda) and Coley Evans (Bob Owens); his nieces and nephews, Joyce Jenkins, Libby Redford, Chuck Hale and Shawn Dixon; his great-niece Emaleigh Ward; and his great-nephews, Allen Redford and Nathan Dixon. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
