It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Audrey Wolford Riggle Copenhaver of Rural Retreat, Virginia, who passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Allen Reed and Nettie Mae Irvin Wolford; her husband Jewell C. Riggle; her former husband John R. Copenhaver; her siblings, Reed (Elizabeth), Clayton (Brownie), Willis, Fred (Ocela), Myra Sayers (Donald), Elizabeth Kincer, Thelma Tarter (Bob) and Zelma Tarter (John); and her brother-in-law Buss Worton.
She is survived by: her daughter Pam; her son-in-law Rick Buchanan of Bristol, VA; her granddaughters, Mindy (John King) and Gina (Brian Hutchinson); her great grandchild Reed Hutchinson; her siblings, Danny (Nancy Wohlford) and Vivian Worton; and her sister-in-law Betty Wolford. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Mt. Ephraim Church (394 Crockett's Cove Rd, Wytheville, VA 24382). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at the Mt. Ephraim Church Cemetery (394 Crockett's Cove Rd, Wytheville, VA 24382).
