She was predeceased by: her parents, Shafter Atkins and Lucille Underwood Atkins; her husband Robert H. Stitely; and her siblings, Moyer Atkins, Arch Atkins, Mary Maulden (Ormand), Pauline Sigmon (Euel) and Elsie Louise Hall (Charles).

She is survived by: her children, Helen Harris (James), Robin Woodson (Matthew) and Angella Stitely-Lamm (Mark); and her grandchildren, Bradley Harris, Hannah, Grant, Brooke Woodson, Ethan and Isaac Lamm. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made in Irene's memory to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Pky.
